CONTAINER CITY

As you will be aware, Christchurch lost a number of it's heritage buildings in the earthquakes of September 2010 and February 2011. A number of retail spaces were also lost - with most stores in the CBD mall of Cashel Street being affected in some form or other.

This new container mall, dubbed "container city" hosts some fabulous new retail stores, including the famous Grocer - a British inspired grocery store selling teas and nic nacs from the UK, including famous pink Brighton Rock.

The container city is the bright, colourful, and futuristic preview the city and its people needed.
I feel quite uplifted visiting here, and love to sit at a table at a cafe that clashes wonderfully with the perfectly square patch of nodding sunflowers.

BOLT OF CLOTH

Now this place is mighty fine!

Marimekko and I are good friends from way back, but this place, wow - I need to get another fix right now!
