There's something about the colours of 1970s wool blankets: It might be that it reminds me of childhood (no doubt!), or even little holidays away to places like Wanaka and renting the homes of people you don't know from a bar of soap. They always had beds made of old dark wood, or stacks of bunks showcasing perfectly tucked in orange blankets.
I even had a Daisy doll (the slightly simpler version of Barbie in the 70s) and remember well, her fabulous chairs, orange boots and saliva-inducing condiments.

SEWING HANKIES GALORE!
Some of you may know by now that I design my own range of hankies and cushions:
Such a business requires you to cut loads of fabric madly and sew them up - sometimes in large quantities.
Today is one of those days..

Remember a while back, I posted about wanting a Cambridge Satchel?
Well... I am happy to say I am the proud new owner of a neon orange one..

About time!
Hi fellow bloggers and followers.
It's been simply ages since I last wrote a post - in fact, more than 12 months!
That is simply terrible Muriel!
Anyway, here I am.
In the last 12 months I have been busy with many things
But this time it's expanding my name into a few additional areas: necklaces and other bits of jewellery.
I have felt inspired by watching the Australian series of The Block where Sophie was wearing a flag necklace (or bunting - which ever tickles your fancy) and thought that's something that I so should be doing!
so, here I am - only days away from starting....
and I have even bought a brand spanking new orange sketch book to start scratching down my ideas (and I won't leave it out of my sight!)
People who know me, know that I am addicted to 2 things.
a) the colour orange, and b) stationery.
Oh, and quite frankly, anything else that even slightly resembles a bunting.
This is one necklace that I purchased from fabulous Christchurch designer girls' - Sly Fox Jewellery
but what I have in mind, is something a little chunkier and clunky, such as the one Sophie wore on the block - looking fabulous with anything!
But, as I said before, one of my favourite colours is ORANGE *** so mine will have a few bright sparkly bits and chevron prints... so watch this space!

In the last 12 months I have been busy with many things
- Writing freelance for Metropol magazine, At Home with The Press, designing and learning how to properly sew my little handkerchiefs and selling them online, starting up a facebook page for my design ideas and creating my home in a new city.
