Ban them. End of Story.

When animal lovers from our city joined together to march for animals, I am sure the government could not have predicted just how many people would brave the chill and traffic cordons to speak for the animals.

Groups of people from Kerikeri to Invercargill gathered to fight for the rights animals through marches organised by animal group HUHA.

The Christchurch event which attracted more than 900 people and dogs started at the base of ruined Christ Church Cathedral in the square.
Most brought their own placards, dressed in animal attire, brought their four-legged friends and screamed at the top of their lungs protesting against the proposed "safety" testing of synthetic "highs" on animals.
Weaving its way up Colombo Street towards the office of National MP Nicky Wagner, who was unfortunately in Wellington, the march gained a few supporters, including that of the local constabulary.

Here are some of the photographs from today.

The local constabulary even got our support!
